MG8 or "Motiongate", also spelled "Motiong8", is an internet startup founded to defend authors of digital works. MG8 works closely with the world's largest internet and legal entities to eradicate the illegal use of art, literature, and a myriad of other contexts in which established copyright is violated. MG8 sources data from hundreds of internet and social media platforms to identify copyright violators. As of June 2020, MG8 and its partners are in the process of developing a software capable of issuing automated takedowns.
