Model E's Subscribe & Drive Service is an alternative to owning or leasing a car. For a monthly subscription fee, Model E and its e-concierge team will handle all of the client's automotive needs-from vehicle registration and insurance through ongoing maintenance. Model E is currently in proof of concept stage and is offering its products and services only to invited guests in the San Francisco Bay Area. Model E's services will first be available in the Northern California market in the first quarter of 2001. The U.S. District Court in Detroit dismissed a trademark infringement suit brought by Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) because of the Model E name.
