MacKay Green Energy is focused on the development of renewable energy systems designed to convert waste and biomass to energy and fuels. Its two key technologies are divided into a power generation plant called an Indirectly Fired Gas Turbine Engine, which is able to use different types of fuel sources such as Refuse Derived Fuel, biomass, fossil fuel, and others to produce electricity at minimal cost. The company’s other technology is called a Torrefaction system that converts waste plastics and tires into fuel. MacKay Green Energy is also able to convert biomass such as its proprietary owned high yielding crop called Bana Grass into Green Coal. This technology coupled to Externally Fired Gas Turbine builds a complete self-sustaining system, which is suitable and affordable for either big cities or small rural areas or even islands where people do not have proper access to electrical supply. MacKay Green Energy is headquartered in Makati.
