Light Relief uses LED technology to direct a stream of warm light into tissues in order to increase circulation and relieve pain. The product consists of a hand-held base unit and a flexible pad. The base unit houses the main circuitry, a graphic display, button controls and batteries. The pad contains the LEDs -- 24 infrared, 31 red and 4 blue. Light Relief also allows users to turn the heat setting on and off, as well as change between four light frequency settings.
