Learning Games Studios builds on the work of the award winning not-for-profit Learning Games Network’s (LGN) research and game development. LGN was formed in 2007 by leading learning scientists and instructional designers from two world-class labs: MIT’s Education Arcade and University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Games+Learning+Society center. LGN’s mission is to advance the field of game-based learning by enabling and promoting cross-disciplinary and cross-sector collaborations capable of realizing innovation and leveraging the ubiquity of digital media to benefit the public good. By combining educational expertise, innovative game mechanics and experienced industry game developers, LGN attracts funding from a variety of government agencies and major philanthropies. LGN’s portfolio includes twelve games and three digital assessment products.
