THE PROBLEM: Shoelaces are a mainstay in every day life on sneakers and other lace up shoes. With the invention of Velcro and its application on shoes, market share, particularly among youth, transitioned from laced to Velcro sneakers. Since this transition, many company’s have tried to resolve this shift. Some use clips with different laces, some cut laces for clips, some add a sleeve over existing laces, however none have been able to take conventional laces, and provide a solution as simple as Velcro.
