Kite Power Solutions (KPS) was founded in 2011 in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, UK to develop a low cost solution to harness energy from the wind using kites. The company is developing a twin-kite system that is reliable and efficient, capable of delivering clean, cheap energy at utility scale. KPS aims to provide energy at a lower cost that of wind turbines, while using 85 per cent less material. Its technology is safe, backed by continuous testing and development since 2011. KPS has received funding from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) Energy Entrepreneurs Fund (EEF) and other private sector funders.
