A developer and manufacturer of ISDN remote-access products. KNX was a Yorksire, UK based developer and manufacturer of ISDN remote-access products. Formed in 1991 it rapidly gained the market leading position, supplying 44 percent of all ISDN PC cards installed in the UK. In addition to its family of ISDN cards for PCs, laptops and servers, KNX offered a modular and highly scalable range of ISDN basic-rate and primary-rate LAN access servers for remote branch offices and high-density central sites. Customers included British Telecommunications PLC, International Computers Limited, Reuters, NHS Ambulance Services, Shell Petroleum and many other leading businesses. KNX had offices in San Francisco California, Melbourne Australia and Skipton Yorkshire UK. It was aquired by Global Village Communications Inc (NASDAQ:GVIL), a leading provider of integrated communication products and services, in December 1996 for 1.5m GVIL shares, valuing the company at almost $30m.
