About company
JustMilk is a nonprofit developing a novel device for delivering life-saving drugs or nutrients to breastfeeding infants. When worn by a mother during breastfeeding, it releases medicine or nutrients contained in the device into the milk directly consumed by the infant. The device could administer antibiotics, analgesics, antiretrovirals, antimalarials, vitamins or other compounds. It contains the entire dose of medicine inside of it, so no literacy is required to measure out a dose. It could be disposable, overcoming hygiene concerns in paediatric drug delivery. It does not require refrigeration, like many liquid medications do. Furthermore, it is used during breastfeeding, which may increase patient compliance and promote breastfeeding. Although it could be a life-saving intervention in low-resource settings, it could additionally be a practical and convenient product in any regional market.
