In 2003, Jourdan Software Engineering was founded as a spin-off company of ETH Zurich. Jourdan Software originated from the cooperation between ETH Zurich, the company ABB Turbo Systems and the software company Mirakon in the context of the KOMPASS project. The result of this cooperation are several software modules with which important tasks in the product development process can be carried out computer-assisted. These tasks include failure analysis, value analysis, FMEA, cost calculations and comparisons, and knowledge management. In its main activity, Jourdan Software Engineering focuses on introducing the developed modules to other companies and adapting them to their specific needs. Another area of responsibility is to realize customer-specific software solutions based on the system platform Mirakon.
