International Game Developers Association is a non-profit organization for game software developers. The site features news, membership information, articles, and forums to serve individuals that create games. IGDA stated with the mission to advance the careers and enhance the lives of game developers by connecting members with their peers, promoting professional development, and advocating on issues that affect the developer community. The IGDA, through its chapters and SIGs, organizes hundreds of events for members of the game development industry including chapter meetings, including the IGDA Summit, IGDA Scholars program, and IGDA Leadership Track at Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo. The IGDA was founded in 1994 by Ernest W. Adams and was initially known as the Computer Game Developers Association (CGDA).
