King Sisyphus' cleverness, according to Greek Mythology, rivaled that of the gods. Duplicitous, arrogant and greedy, he challenged their authority. The gods punished him. Sentenced to an eternity of useless effort, each day Sisyphus was made to roll an enormous boulder up a steep hill. Each time he approached the top, the boulder would roll away from him. Returning to the bottom, the former King would be made to start again.
