I Got Garbage is an initiative that strives to provide dignified livelihood opportunities to waste-pickers, and to convert them to recycling managers. It is a Mindtree initiative in the area of waste-picker livelihood and solid waste management. I Got Garbage’s primary objective is to improve the livelihood and working conditions of waste-pickers, and to help them integrate into mainstream economy. An equally important purpose of this initiative is to involve citizens and communities in solving the problem of managing solid waste. I Got Garbage’s cloud-based IT platform offers capabilities such as an ERP for waste-pickers, citizen engagement platform, waste management services marketplace, and a waste-picker benefits tracker.
