In December 2016 VDOT awarded a 50 year concession coontract to I-66 Express Mobility Partners to design, build, operate and maintain I-66 from I-495 to Gainesville. When complete, 2000 – 4000 more people an hour will move through the I-66 corridor outside the beltway.
