Hy5Pro AS is a Norwegian Medtech company that develops cost effective hydraulic hand prosthetics. The company believes that all people, across all geographic, demographic and socioeconomic areas should have the right to the highest possible quality of life, including full mobility. Through the years, the company has driven innovation and invested in creating a hand prosthetic with optimal functionality – at a reasonable price. The passion driven innovation started with Jos Poirtes, a Dutch amusement park engineer, who worked with mechanical dolls. He saw the potential for an hydraulic hand prosthesis, and brought the idea to Norway. Christian Fredrik Stray, CEO, and Jos Poirtes started Hy5 in 2015, and now has over ten employees and a manufacturing plant at Raufoss.
