Humanikin GmbH was founded in October 2008 as a spin-off of Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research). In 2009, Humanikin was accredited by the European Union as a viable SME company to take part in EU FP7 framework projects. Since 2010, Humanikin is a registered trademark for simulating the human body.
