Opportunity and innovation sprouted from frustration and disaster when Colleen Becker and Chris Livermore became determined to find avenues of technology which worked well in hostels because all property management systems are currently solely designed for traditional hotel operations. As Chris and Colleen began networking at hostel conferences they soon realized they were not alone in their aggravation. Many other hosteliers were expressing the same complaints, and were facing the same issues Colleen was facing at the guesthouse she managed. Affordable technology for this no-frills niche industry was nowhere found.
