Homeforswap is an online service that allows people to connect with others from all over the world to arrange a home exchange for travel. Jean-Baptiste de La Mettrie and Estibaliz Martinez founded Homeforswap.com in 2009 in New York. They both traveled around the world and always considered a local stay to be a better option over a hotel stay. Jean-Baptiste and Estibaliz realized that home exchange web platforms already existed, but there were no user-friendly or web 2.0 portals available for people who wanted to organize their swap quickly, simply and securely. So, they created Homeforswap. com, a home exchange website, which is now available in 6 languages and brings over 10,000 people together from 120 different countries.
