The founders of Harvest Michigan had developed direct relationships with smaller farms and producers who make it a priority to offer food that is tastier and more nutritious - the kind of food more and more people are demanding these days. Yet even with increased demand, it has been a problem for many of these producers to get their goods to the people who crave them. We saw a real possibility: Create a distribution model in which everybody wins. One that helps all involved, as well as Michigan's food system and the state's bottom line.
