In 2006 a small team named “Greenmiles” began offering compensation for CO2 emissions. At that time the main focus was on special events such as the conference “Meeting the Future” by the Doctoral Candidates Network for Sustainable Development (DNW). As a result of this success, Greenmiles GmbH was founded in the beginning of 2007 and since then has continuously expanded its offering. In the meantime, large companies such as the publishing group Milchstraße, BP, the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin, Premiere Global Services, Vattenfall Europe und many medium-sized companies have become Greenmiles customers.
