Hi, I’m James Poetzscher, creator and owner of the Greenhouse Maps website and co-founder of Checkmate COVID. In 2018, I started paying a lot of attention to climate change and around the same time became fascinated with satellites. Climate change featured more and more in the media and I decided to do my own research to start understanding it on a deeper level. I began looking into the greenhouse gases driving this global issue. During my research, I discovered that satellite technology is extensively used to track global greenhouse gases. I am grateful for the incredible opportunity to share my maps and my passion for climate change. I hope that my work will inspire more people to learn about climate change, satellites, and atmospheric pollution. In the near future, I plan to work on two new projects—writing a scientific research article and building a nitrous oxide sensor.
