In 1974 Gowrie began with a simple mission – insuring boats and protecting their owners. Over the years, their clients’ needs matured, their expertise expanded, and their business developed into one of the largest and most well–respected, independently owned insurance agencies.As Gowrie grew they became an organization comprised of many linked companies, programs, and brands, including Gowrie Barden & Brett, Gowrie Brett & Young, Fisher & Fisher Associates, Brewer Preferred Insurance, VFIS of Southern New England, Shoreline Insurance Agency, and The Burgee Program. All these Gowrie companies share the same values: insight, analysis, and service excellence.
