Global Civil and Mining (GCM) is Australia’s most experienced surface miner contractor. GCM has worked for top tier clients such as; Rio Tinto, Glencore, Wesfarmers, FMG, BHPB, Roy Hill, BMD, NRW and Thiess on a wide range of mining and civil construction projects, throughout Australia. As a result GCM has developed the technical knowhow to efficiently and economically excavate and mill large volumes of material, including hard rock, using surface miners. Surface Miners Surface miners are large self-propelled milling machines that use a rotating cutting drum to mill materials. Surface miners are unique because they can cut, mill, and load material, (including rock), in a single pass at depths of up to 500mm.
