GlacierWorks is a non-profit organization that highlights changes in the Himalayan glaciers through art, science, and adventure. GlacierWorks has made fourteen expeditions to the Greater Himalaya. Retracing the steps of pioneering alpine photographers and explorers, it has recorded losses and changes in many glaciers that are inaccessible to all, but the most skilled climbers. The organization’s high-resolution gigapixel photography enables its viewers to experience the glaciers as never before: up-close and with extreme precision. Using its online tools, it is possible for its viewers to soar thousands of feet above a glacier and view it in its entirety or zoom down to the ground and explore pebbles embedded in the ice. GlacierWorks was founded in 2007 in Boston, Massachusetts.
