Filter Off is a video dating app that helps people connect romantically via 90-second FaceTime-style video chats while social distancing. Three days a week, the app hand-selects three dates that match user preferences. They will view their dating queue for the evening, add the appointments to their calendar (if you’re a calendar person), and connect with a potential romantic match at the scheduled time. They’ll have 90 seconds to chat via live video and swap stories about how they’re passing the time. Once the date is over, they can decide whether they'd like to take it a step further and go on a real date, which at this point in time means sending in-app messages and video messages. The app was launched in 2019 and is based in New York.
