Genoa has developed novel linear semiconductor optical amplifiers (LSOAs) for amplifying DWDM wavelengths for both metro and telecom applications. As a byproduct of that technology, they have also developed a unique approach for making long wavelength vertical cavity emitting lasers (VCSELs).
