Gangkr is a Chinese voice-based social entertainment application. This application enables users to debate with strangers via recorded voice messages about topics from China's air pollution to other social and personal causes. In other words, Gangkr allows users to bicker back and forth through audio files. Finally users are able to vote for or against openly expressed opinions. Gangkr has also invited and attracted many radio DJs to perform their own audio shows, more freely than what they are able to do at their formal jobs. It also considers including user-generated content to the application. Receiving funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Gangkr was launched in October 2012.
