What began as sorrow in a family tragedy has transformed into passion and leadership to create innovate “clinical fluid management”. Future Path Medical (FPMHC, LLC) has brought patented disruptive innovation to medical devices for clinical fluid management beginning with urine. Ty Bryant's son, Christopher, became a quadriplegic in 1997 due to a tragic diving accident while camping and swimming on the Little Miami River. Having experienced frustration with the existing methods of urine monitoring, Ty and Chris set out on a mission to solve the issues of fill rate and caregiver notification. Sadly, Christopher passed away in July of 2005 from a blood infection called sepsis, which was a result of decubitus ulcers caused by a urine bag overflow in his hospital bed – a problem that may have been avoided with smarter technology.
