Free Flow Medical is developing a next-generation medical device to treat patients with emphysema, an advanced form of chronic obstructive disease (COPD) that severely limits the quality of life, presents the patient with ongoing severe breathlessness and eventual mortality. The company's technology includes a minimally-invasive tool that helps prevent shortness of breath, enabling doctors to help treat patients suffering from emphysema. It incubates inside the Spin-Off Factory and is the first company to be spun out. Mark Mathis established it in Fremont, California in 2017.
