About company
Originally created in 2003 by the University of British Columbia, Flintbox emerged as the foundation for open innovation software tools and the leading intellectual property exchange. Wellspring acquired Flintbox in 2010 and has transformed the system into a state-of-the art, intuitive software platform that combines Wellspring’s global network of research institutions with the feedback and experience of the Flintbox members. Our new release creates a collaborative community with over 17,000 registered users and over 500 different organizations across six continents. Wellspring relaunched the new Flintbox in April 2010 as a platform for developing relationships and driving collaboration in the innovation community. Wellspring releases new features and functionality suggested by companies, universities, independent innovators, and others as part of our user-driven development process.
