Fortabat de la Fuente foundation, commonly known as FLF within the Argentinian cerebral palsy community, was founded by the grandchildren of late charity worker, philanthropist and cerebral palsy activist, María Emilia Fortabat de la Fuente. ​ During her lifetime, Fortabat de la Fuente, who suffered from a mild form of cerebral palsy herself, was drawn to helping those who had this incurable, but treatable condition. This was Fortabat de la Fuente’s calling from a young age, and one for which she cared passionately. Moreover, she devoted a lifetime to provide for those in need in a wide array of areas, including women's rights, pioneering in this field.
