FIRST Washington is a non-profit organization that implements FIRST Robotics programs for students and teachers. The organization supports and engages today's tech-native youth with a league of their own, inspiring them to build on their passions and preparing them to be the STEM leaders of tomorrow. It continues to provide STEM Robotics Professional Development across the state. FIRST Washington helps K-12 school teachers gain the skills and confidence to teach students Computer Science (CS) and STEM through robotics. It also introduces the energy and excitement of establishing a FIRST LEGO League Jr. (K-4th grade), FIRST LEGO League program (4th-8th grade) into a school and its "Java for Robots" extension provides a platform to teach Java for FIRST Tech Challenge (7th-12th grade) and FIRST Robotics Competition (9th-12th grade) students. FIRST Washington was founded in 2011 and is based in Kent, WA, USA.
