Mantra was founded by two Americans, Andrew and Sam, to help solve a pressing problem. When we were teaching in a small village in rural China from 2010-2012, we discovered that many of our students didn't have the prescription eyeglasses they needed to see clearly and succeed in school. In response, Andrew founded Education In Sight in 2012, a non-profit organization that has already given 116,000 vision exams and 16,000 pairs of glasses to needy students in Yunnan.
