File Shredder is a free desktop application for shredding unwanted files permanently from the system. The program removes confidential documents from the system and makes them unavailable for recovery. Users can choose between 5 different shredding algorithms, each one gradually stronger than the previous one. File Shredder’s integrated Disk Wiper uses shredding algorithm to wipe unused disk space. File Shredder works on WIndows NT, WIndows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and Windows Vista. File Shredder is released under GNU/GPL General Public License. It is available for both personal and commercial use.
