FileHippo is an online website that enables users to download the latest versions of free software by providing them with relevant links and information on updates. The website has a filtering feature that allows users to view only freeware and non-beta software. It provides RSS feeds for all updates, categories, and for individual programs. Along with the new updates, FileHippo also keeps the old versions of programs. The FileHippo App Manager scans users’ computers for installed applications, checks the versions, and then sends this data to FileHippo.com to ascertain if there are any newer releases available. If there are any new releases, then they are displayed in the browser window to be downloaded.
