FABtec Medical is an early stage development company focusing on the endoscopic treatment of morbid obesity and metabolic illness. FABtec provides a very unique mal-absorptive treatment through a simple 10 minute endoscopic procedure. Key features include catheter-based deployment, simple implementation, auto-reversibility, (no additional intervention for removal), and a strong potential to expand market applications beyond currently understood indications. Proof of Concept studies with genetically obese rats yielded a 12% difference in total body weight at 42 days between shams & controls and treated animals. When sacrificed at 42 days, all observations were indicative of healthy animals.
