ERA Environmental Consulting, Inc was founded in 1995 in the Raleigh-Durham Triangle area. Early software development efforts in conjunction with the University of North Carolina resulted in an Air Emissions software product designed to meet the needs of industries using large quantities of paints and coatings. Those early development efforts specifically addressed the reporting burden created by the introduction of the Surface Coating NESHAPS.
