Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) is a non-profit research center that works to protect privacy, freedom of expression, and democratic values and to promote the public voice in decisions concerning the future of the internet. The center pursues a wide range of programs, including education, litigation, and advocacy. EPIC also files amicus briefs in federal courts, pursues open government cases, defends consumer privacy, organizes conferences for NGOs, and speaks before the United States Congress and other judicial organizations about emerging privacy and civil liberties issues. The center maintains two privacy web sites: epic.org and privacy.org. EPIC is headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States.
