Ekokamu Oy is a start-up company founded in 2017, which develops bio-stacks based on vacuum technology, initially for household use and also for professional purposes. The founder members of Ekokamo are the developer of the concept, M.Sc. (Tech.) And Ph.D., Annukka Pakarinen, and Elina Voutilainen, M.Sc. The operating mechanism based on Ekokamun vacuum technology is the work of Annukka Pakarinen. The invention itself has been born long before the establishment of Ekokamu Oy, when Pakarinen, a mother of four children working as a biofuel researcher, and as a resident of a private home began to consider ways of making home bio-waste recycling smoother. The interest in utilizing various organic side streams in the food chain stems from combining a high-level professional expertise in the field of chemical engineering with a degree in biotechnology, as a result of the method used in the Ekokamu bio-staste, which makes it possible to treat bio-waste almost odorlessly and completely without excess moisture.
