Eastern Air Lines is certified with the FAA in 8 months as a 121 Air Carrier using the 737-800 as the fleet standard. In 2009, a professional group of airline managers acquired the intellectual property of Eastern Air Lines to develop a new business plan and financing plan to re-launch the airline.
