Earthship Biotecture designs and constructs sustainable buildings and systems using recycled materials. The company aims to design and build homes that heat and cool themselves naturally via solar dynamics; collect their own power from the sun and wind; harvest their own water from rain and snow melt; and contain and treat their own sewage on site. It shares knowledge about earthships through publications, DVDs, seminars, and global demonstrations. Earthship Biotecture’s systems are designed with a focus on water, electricity, sewage treatment, comfort, and food. The Global Model is a universal model developed by the company which can be modified in many sizes for various climates. Its other models include simple survival, vaulted global, and packaged model. Earthship Biotecture is based in Taos, New Mexico.
