Duquesne Light Company was formed under the laws of Pennsylvania by the consolidation and merger in 1912 of three constituent companies. As part of a corporate reorganization, Duquesne Light became a wholly owned subsidiary of Duquesne Light Holdings in July 1989. Duquesne Light is engaged in the supply (through its provider-of-last-resort service), transmission and distribution of electric energy, providing electric service to customers in Allegheny County (including the City of Pittsburgh), Beaver County and to a limited extent, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
