The German Broadcasting Archive (DRA) is a non-profit foundation under civil law. Donors are brought together in the ARD public broadcasters in Germany. The DRA was established in 1952 as a "sound archive of Rundfunk" with headquarters at Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main, making it the first and oldest joint institution of the ARD. With the acquisition of programming assets of radio and television in the former GDR, the DRA received a second location, since December 2000 located on the grounds of RBB in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
