Double-Cone Technology AG (DCT) was spun off from the University of Bern, Switzerland, in April 1999. The University's former Rheology Laboratory was to establish itself as a centre for R&D in the field of high-pressure circuits and applications, with strong industrial links and numerous international patents. DCT's technology stems from the research into fundamental fluid dynamics which was carried out, under Dr John Stark, between 1977 and 1999 in the Rheology Laboratory of the University of Bern, Switzerland.
