UM Depression Center is a multi-disciplinary center dedicated to the research, education, and treatment of depressive and bipolar illnesses. It is devoted to bringing depression into the mainstream of medical research, translational care, education, and public policy, while changing the paradigm of how depression and bipolar illnesses are understood and treated. UM Depression Center’s aim is to detect depression and bipolar disorders earlier, treat more effectively, prevent recurrences and progression, counteract stigma, and improve public policy. It was established in 2001 and is headquartered in Ann Arbor, M.I.
