Data City Exchange (DCE), a private equity backed data centre operator, was founded in 2008 to offer bespoke networked data centre solutions to the global corporate market. The company is currently building 2 major commercial data centres in Birmingham and Belfast, both scheduled to open in 2013. The innovative DCE data centre design is based around the Evo-POD, a self-contained 96-rack module that forms a "data centre within a data centre solution". The Evo-POD design enables DCE to offer world leading target PUE levels of sub 1.10 and can also be deployed as an external data centre in its own right.
