Cytomec GmbH presents an innovative technology for cell culture on high extension surfaces. The need for passaging during cell population expansions is reduced by culturing cells on a high extension elastomer which is stretched isotropically by an iris-like mechanical device (which is motorized and automated with a PC interface). This novel approach promises to improve control of cell phenotypes during population expansions, and also enables mechanical stimulation of cells during long-term culture.
