The Center for Women`s Development and Research (CWDR) was founded in 1993 by a group of female activists to counter the lack of NGOs for women led by women. They recognized the importance of female-led organizations to improve women`s issues. CWDR`s goal was to serve marginalized , vulnerable communities of women in the slums of chennai and surrounding communities. Through education, organization, and advocacy, CWDR focuses on empowering three populations in particular: domestic workers, single women, and adolescent girls. Manushi provides education on women`s rights and workers rights for its members. <BR/> Snehidhi provides life skill and health training,sexuality education.
