About company
CV-Sight was founded with a simple goal – to increase the quality of care in cardiovascular disease by increasing the adherence to evidence based guidelines from the ACC/AHA. Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in the US, and one of the leading drivers of healthcare costs. There are approximately 600,000 percutaneous interventions and 160,000 coronary bypass procedures performed in the US every year. There is an increasing body of peer-reviewed literature suggesting that variability in use of these procedures is a significant problem. In some clinical syndromes and in some hospitals, up to 50% of these procedures are judged questionable or inappropriate. In addition to areas of clinical concern, there have been high profile civil prosecutions of physicians and hospitals for unnecessary procedures resulting in loss of licensure and multi-million dollar fines.
