The Council of State Governments (CSG) is a region-based forum that fosters the exchange of insights and ideas to help state officials shape public policy. The organization serves all three branches of government in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. It offers regional, national, and international opportunities to network, develop leaders, collaborate, and create partnerships. The CSG is focused on economics and finance, education, energy and environment, federal affairs, health, international affairs, interstate compacts, public safety and justice, transportation, and workforce development. CSG eCademy is an online source of information and training on critical issues facing state leaders, trends in state policymaking, and state solutions. The CSG operates as four sections: CSG East, CSG Midwest, CSG South, and CSG West. The Council of State Governments was founded in 1933 and is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky.
